I was talking about this with a friend of mine recently and we having both moved from Auckland to Melbourne have really noticed the slight increase in sunshine hours, especially in winter. Although I must say if its sunny in Melbourne it is clear blue, absolutely STUNNING weather, and even if it was 3 degrees when I reluctantly crawled out of bed, the rays perk me up and put the glint of mischief back into my eyes!
I looked it up a little on average this is what the weather sites say, so it isn’t too much more, but golly I’ve noticed it! There are places that are incessantly sunny, maybe I’ll migrate there some time in the distant future!
Get out of the concrete jungle
I can’t stress how therapeutic this is! After surviving another monotonous week working my butt off, my lovely girlfriend suggested we get out the city. Pearcedale, about 40-60 minutes out of Melbourne city is a gorgeous place. Passing Gippsland (where my favourite Aussie yogurt is from) its a beautiful drive through light bush made up mostly of gum trees and on last weekends stunning sunny, crisp winter day it was pretty near perfect. With my window down and the breeze rustling my hair and country air refreshing and waking up my senses, I couldn’t help but smile from ear to ear and dance in my seat.
I'm glad you're having fun, but Auckland is really less fabulous without you here my love. Dani x
I've just moved from Auckland to Melbourne as well and I've definitely noticed that Melbourne is much sunnier than Auckland in the Winter. Perhaps we've just been lucky and this is an exceptionally sunny winter? Either way, I'm not complaining!
Pearcedale sounds really lovely, I'll have to check it out. My hubby and I went for a walk in the Royal Botanic Gardens last weekend and it was so beautiful it almost felt like we were out of the city…
