Something you possibly didn’t know about me? I was an Irish Folk Dancer for over 8 years…

Yup that “Riverdancing, Lord of the Dance” stuff. Tapping and bouncing my way around competitions for most of my teens. Not only was it socializing but it taught me persistence, discipline and the joy of Competition… oh yes this colorful, tanned legs and Shirley temple wig sporting cultural phenomenon was truly the love of my youth!

Here’s some Instigrams that I took of some old photos I dug up to go with this post! I’ve been meaning to write about and share for ages. It was a huge exciting part of my life and well and truly instilled in me my competitive spirit and desire to win and be the best. Nothing does that like a crazy wee Irish Dance teacher screaming at you and being there to calm the pre competition nerves!

Men In Tutus
DIRECT FROM NEW YORK Les Ballets Eloelle are bringing their new production of “Men In Tutu’s” – the most spectacular, talented and hilarious all-male comedy ballet ever back to New Zealand. Its been here before and I’ve missed it. This winter I’ve vowed (provided this flu doesn’t wear me down) that I’m really gonna get out and involved in a bit of culture that’s come to New Zealand. This sounds amazing.. I always wanted to be a ballerina when I was a kid and just didn’t have the body or the duck feet for it unfortunately! *sigh* Seeing these men en pointe is truly amazing..

I can’t wait, if you want to come – LET GO!
